The Northern Michigan Regional Chapter - SCI Wish Fish program is an extension of the Chapter’s long-standing Wish Hunt program. The Wish Fish program is an annual event designed to provide a “big water” fishing experience for a number of special young people. Identified young people, with special needs, are invited along with their family to participate in a day-long fishing experience on Lake Huron – weather permitting. Participants and their families arrive the evening prior to the fishing experience; enjoy a pizza party; meet/greet the various Captains; spend the night at the Alpena Ramada Inn; and fish early the next morning. All fishing equipment and a bag lunch are provided for all participants. After the fishing is concluded, participants enjoy a picnic sponsored by the Chapter.
This program is open to any young person with special needs. The Chapter’s goal for the Wish Fish program is similar to that of the Wish Hunt program, that is, to provide a unique opportunity to participants for a single event. As a result, the Chapter is always seeking new nominations for participation.
To nominate a participant, please fill out and submit the form below. The Wish Fish event is typically scheduled for weekend dates in the months of August or September.
